Hello… actually make that, Bonjour – the month of love is upon us, and for some reason I come over all French when Valentine’s approaches!

The sweet arrival of February means we’ve made it through January – hurrah – and that plenty of reasons to be bright and breezy are coming our way. Spring is almost here, which means Mother’s Day, Easter and some well deserved time off for all you hard workers isn’t too far away either. But first, it’s Valentine’s Day!

One of my favourite holidays – Hallmark or otherwise – Valentine’s Day is a much needed excuse for all of us to dress up or down, and show our loved ones just how much they mean to us. And if that doesn’t just fill you with a warm fuzzy feeling I don’t know what will!

Having already shared with you lovelies three of my favourite brands when it comes to gifting, I thought this week we should take a look at some Valentine’s Day dressing ideas. With new deliveries flying in left, right and centre, the girls and I decided now was the best time to show off what fancy frocks and cosy casuals are hanging in store, ready to ensure you look your best whatever your plans.

For any lovebirds off somewhere fancy, dressing to impress is a must – naturally. Ted Baker never lets one down in these situations, and the new arrivals that have just landed are no exception. First up there is the Yandal asymmetric bodycon dress. Its sultry shape and off-the-shoulder straps make this a total head-turner whether you opt for the pale pink or statement Versailles print. If bodycon isn’t your thing but you can’t get enough of the bold teal, pink and rose gold print you’re in luck. The eye-catching design is also available as Norahe – shorter and with a flattering cut, exposed shoulders and ruffles to boot.

A. Loving Look, or Two

Hello… actually make that, Bonjour – the month of love is upon us, and for some reason I come over all French when Valentine’s approaches!

If you’re looking to make an impression but aren’t one for elaborate prints, why not try Ted’s extreme cut out shoulder dress, now in store in bright pink and black. Mix and match with Mr Baker’s pointed heels to complete a simple yet striking look. Of course, if you’re not one for dresses, there is still an endless array of separates that will tick the fancy box. The Anett slim ankle grazer trousers in pale pink work beautifully with the Chatsworth Bloom print sheer blouses – the grey hues setting the pink off perfectly.

A night on tiles does have its perks on Valentine’s Day… Champagne will be flowing, couples and friend squads alike will have a glint in their eyes and venues go to town on the décor – what’s not to love? That said, I’m often equally as happy enjoying a cosy night in. Especially on the most romantic night of the year. Wrapped up in gorgeous loungewear, fizz flowing, candles all a-glow… have I convinced you to stay in yet?

If I have then you must check out the new spring collection from A Postcard From Brighton. If you read last week’s blog post you’ll already know that I’m spouting the truth – the new season is full of effortless pieces with comfort and style in equal measure. My go-to would be this light grey sweat with heart detail – obviously – paired with some classic denim or black bottoms. Add some Helen Moore faux fur throws, cushions and slippers for the ultimate in luxurious lounging.

Whatever fabulous night you have planned, some sparkle is definitely in order. Now, I know I was banging on about her pieces when we last caught up, but come on… Vivienne’s jewellery is just otherworldly. Aside from obsessing over the Bas relief brooch in rose gold, this week I’ve been playing with layering some of the necklaces – a style which I think looks pretty special. The rose gold, silver and yellow gold work surprisingly well together, that said the iconic orb and heart necklace and bracelet sets work equally well alone. It’s definitely worth experimenting with the combinations when you’re next in store though, just to see what works for you.

And, if you are still looking for gift ideas or hints to drop – ahem – there is so much choice in store. Aside from what I’ve already been gushing over, there are so many stunning bags and purses in at the minute I don’t even know where to start; Tom Ford’s sunglasses are just divine; and even Ted Baker’s brollies are making me smile at the minute – they might be practical but by golly they’re pretty! Whoever you’re looking to spoil, a little or a lot, I guarantee the girls can help you find something perfect.

Before I head off to delve into a pile of Helen Moore’s faux furs, a quick thank you for all of your comments over on Instagram, they’ve really been making me smile. It’s so lovely to hear how much you’re enjoying the service at the store and the collections that are arriving as much as I am. So please, keep it coming! I’d love more of you to get involved on the Insta-grid, whether it’s with your comments or #friendsofagatha so I can see how you’re all wearing your purchases.

Must dash darlings.

Ta-ta for now,

Agatha x
